The redevelopment of Golden Jubilee is well underway, with the front diamond areas of GJ1 and GJ5 being levelled, and the repositioning of the back nets started. We are on-track to see the fields ready for play at the start of next summer season, complete with lights on all front diamonds.
This work is the result of talks that have been on-going with the Ku-Ring-Gai Council for several years, due largely to the efforts of Dave Coutts, Rob Scott, Chris Rainnie and Lou Stillitano. It’s great to see that the words have finally turned into action and we are on our way to having a wonderful ground that we can all be proud of.
One important aspect of the redevelopment is that soccer will be moved to the back oval, leaving the entire front of Golden Jubilee park for baseball year-round. This is a major improvement for Stealers, allowing us to provide more junior gala days in season and pre season training for all players. We will also be able to host Ryde Hawks rep games and see Friday and Saturday night games under lights. Lets play ball!
